Initial response to the brief 

Even before the briefs came out, I knew I wanted to do a music video, despite it being more time-consuming and challenging. I have a large interest in film and music and want to work in the film industry in the future, so producing a music video will be good practice for me, enhancing my skills in camera work, organising production and editing.

Music video brief

Pros:

- Already wanted to make a music video

- More knowledge of music videos than magazines

Cons:

- Harder

- More time-consuming

- Harder to gain full marks

Magazine brief

Pros:

- Easier

- Faster

- Easier to get models

Cons:

- Less interest in it

Even though there are more pros for a magazine, I still would like to do a music video because of the reasons said in my starting paragraph above. Additionally, making a music video would contribute nicely to my portfolio when applying post-18 options where I want to study film. This brief will allow me to experiment creatively with how I write, shoot and edit short films/music videos.
